If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

The truth is, I’m happy being a human. I have the privilege of having my relationships with my fellow humans, plus the amazing opportunity of bonding with virtually any other kind of animal. But if I had to choose, I’d love to be a cockatoo. I love the funny little guys! They can fly, and they can make friends with other animals.

I was born the evening the Beatles played on the Ed Sullivan show. My mother never held it against me that she missed it. ❤️

I’m not exactly sure what particular animal I’d be, but I have always dreamed of being able to fly next to geese and soar with the eagles.

I would love to be a salmon in the Pacific Northwest! Growing up I learned about all the infrastructure that was put in place to assist salmon during migration periods and would find that so cool to experience. Besides that, I would enjoy being a fish as I love the ocean and swimming!

I have my motorcycle license but have never owned a motorcycle.

I am nearly complete in a degree for Mechanical engineering! When I first started college I worked some security type jobs - I have a number of certifications in crisis intervention, security authorities, interviewing & investigations, along with drug overdose/medical responses.

While attending my previous college, San Diego State University, I was awarded an internship from the National Science foundation from my academic accomplishments! I was so lucky to work with the Department of the Navy through this and learned so much regarding robotics!

What kind of pets do you have? Tell us about them!

2 dogs- One is a red nosed pit bull named Freya. She is super sweet but big and hyper or as we say she is very "aggressive with her love". Also my daughter's dog is a beagle mix named Lil Deggy. We have 3 cats. One tuxedo kitty named Bocephus or BoCat for short, a black and white cat named George. They are my old men and then I have a Ginger kitty name Punkin.

Born in raised here in Jacksonville.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

Hmm.. that so hard. My absolute favorite animal is Manatees. My dad got me into them at a very young age when we adopted one but if I had to choose one to be maybe a cat. They are just smart, spiritual, and independent little beings. They are very agile, sleep when they want, and pretty much just do whatever they want without caring what we have to say about it 😄I

An interesting fact about yourself:

I would love to do animal massage and energy work in the future. I am very intuitive in these areas and have spent many years working on people but I would love to work with animals one day.

I was known for being the reflexology queen at my old job when I still did massage. I guess I was the best.

What kind of pets do you have? Tell us about them!

I have three dogs: Nala- yellow lab mix, Scout-German Shepherd, Olive- Shepherd mix. I also have 6 chickens all with egg-cellent chicken names.

Where are you originally from? What brought you to Jacksonville?

I grew up in Ohio and moved down here I graduated college. I was scouted by DCPS to come teach here in Jax!

I am an elementary school teacher. I’ve taught here since 2007. I also waitress.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

I’d be a dolphin. They are one of the smartest species on the planet. They also eat 33 lbs of fish a day, and I love seafood. Not only that, but they have the ability to rest one hemisphere of their brain for short periods, which allows them to keep swimming, breathing, and eating, all while napping. Naps are my favorite!

An interesting fact about yourself:

I used to ride motorcycles, I am 6 feet tall, and am allergic to dairy.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from college. I am also a crazy chicken lady! I love anything chicken related. I also ran competitively in school. I’ll run dogs if needed!

Oreo is my 7 yr old 15 lb mini Shipoo. He is very vocal, loves playing fetch, is a cuddle bug and rules the house! Cooper is my 3 yr old 70 lb mix whom my boyfriend and I adopted last summer from the Humane Society. He is a docile, tender-loving sweetheart!

We are here in Florida from Ohio for my boyfriend's job.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

I can be sassy as a kitty cat, take my time as a sloth, and I very well could be a forest fairy!

I am a retired public elementary education school teacher with my Masters in Educational Leadership. The colleges I attended were Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and Antioch University Midwest in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

What is something you've been acknowledged for in the past or something cool that you have been a part of?

I have been recognized by family and a few close friends for having a good singing voice, but will not be caught doing karaoke! I’m much too shy.

I grew up a Navy Brat and lived in Guam, Hawaii, Italy, and Virginia before making my own roots in Jacksonville!

I’m a former vet tech/assistant now using my veterinary knowledge in the Pet Insurance industry.

A tiger! They’re noble, courageous and they never give up!

I share the same birthday as Rainn Wilson, aka Dwight Schrute from The Office, one of my all time favorite shows.

I have assisted in surgeries for two lemurs and a tiger cub. It was the coolest and most rewarding experience in my career.

Two rescue cats. A Orange Tabby and a black and white cat. Tigger and Otis. They are both indoor/outdoor cats. Tigger is very independent and always hungry. He will give you kisses but will only let you hold him on his terms. He only likes to be petted and scratched on his head. He loves to play with his brother until his brother gets on his nerves. He also loves to play with fluffy balls, lasers and string toys. He loves the outdoors. Otis is skittish. He doesn’t like to be held but loves massages. He doesn’t go far from home. He loves to play and aggravate his brother. He loves to run around the room and jump on his castle, climb trees and chase lizards. He also loves to play with fluffy toys, string toys, and believe it or not pine cones. My husband brings him small pine cones home from the west coast He wakes me up at 5 every morning to go outside. He loves the outdoors. They both like to bring me mice, lizards and yes black garden snakes.

I was born in Selma, Alabama but lived in Florence, Alabama most of my life. We moved here in 2001 because my husband took a job with Georgia Pacific.

A cat. They are soft, fluffy and loving. They are mysterious, have a great imagination, fun and have survival skills and instincts.

What is something you've been acknowledged for in the past or something cool that you have been a part of?

I have been to Nationals three times in tennis as a 3.0, 3.5 and 6.5 doubles. I got an award for volunteering at my son’s middle school. I have gotten a certificate from TVA(Brownsferry Nuclear Plant) in recognition for a job well done during an outage. I am a good cook and baker.
